Moab Irrigation District #20 is located in the northeast corner of the Spokane Valley near the Idaho State line. The land had been used many years for dryland farming. The district extends primarily from Trent road north to Newman Lake, and from Starr road east to the Idaho State line. On March 28, 1968, a group of land owners in the vicinity of Moab met and voted to form an irrigation district and to contact the Washington State Department of Water Resources to negotiate a construction loan from the State Reclamation Revolving Fund. Clarence E. Simpson Engineers, Inc was retained by the land owners in April, 1968, to prepare a feasibility report and cost estimates for the proposed project. On May 6, 1968, Moab Irrigation District No. 20 was organized, and we have been proudly serving water to the Newman Lake area ever since.
Moab Irrigation District #20, a Group A public water system, will comply with all federal and state drinking water regulatory requirements. The district will provide drinking water and irrigation water in a reliable manner, in a quality suitable for intended use to district water users.
